Scholarship programme
IAPS – Puli Pradeep Reddy Scholarship 2027
This scholarship is for one IAPS pediatric surgeon to visit the United States and attend the Pediatric Urology Workshop hosted by Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center each year. The scholar will observe urologic surgeries and procedures, attend clinics, and other staff activities. Scholars will not perform any surgery or hands-on patient care.
Eligibility
- Be a pediatric surgeon in India and a member of IAPS
- MBBS degree and full-time academic appointment at rank of assistant professor or higher in pediatric urology or pediatric surgery
- Certified pediatric surgeon, 2–7 years after completion of pediatric surgery training
- Competent command of the English language
- Able to proactively assist in obtaining a U.S. visa (as needed)
- Able to travel in the United States for up to 1.5 months
- Strong interest in pediatric urology
Programme
- One scholar is selected per year
- IAPS selects the recipient and submits the name to CCHMC for review and approval. CCHMC has final approval
- Duration: travel to the United States for up to six weeks before or after the Pediatric Urology Workshop
- CCHMC contributes round-trip economy airfare from India to Cincinnati, room and board for up to six weeks, and workshop registration. Other costs are the scholar’s / IAPS’s responsibility
Selection
- Applications are scrutinised by the Secretary General’s office. Eligible candidates are updated by email
- An online interview is conducted by a 5-member expert committee formulated by the President of IAPS
- A list of recommended candidates is submitted to CCHMC for final selection
- All terms and conditions in the MOU must be followed
